The total salary package for this position is £78,612 – £86,568 per annum, including basic salary, hardship allowance, programme management allowance and cost of living allowance.
About the role:
We are seeking to recruit a Technical Operations Manager to lead and safely manage all Mine Action and Arms Management and Destruction operations in Mali, as well as leading technical teams of national and international staff. Working closely with and reporting to the Country Director, you will provide high quality technical input into proposals and reports, liaise with donors, and government agencies. As a member of the programmes Senior Management Team, you will need to demonstrate considerable experience of working strategically and ensuring the quality and efficiency of clearance work.
You will need to hold a recognisable EOD 3 qualification and have extensive experience of planning and implementing efficient AMD activities in challenging environments, with a mine action background being beneficial. Previous experience in West Africa is desirable. You will have excellent people and project management skills with the ability to coordinate, design, manage and report on activities simultaneously and remotely. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding position that will be suited to a highly motivated, solution-focused and flexible manager. A patient, tactful and diplomatic approach is also required.
Fluent written and spoken French Language skills are essential, with English language skills desirable.

Accommodation: we will provide accommodation in-country.
Leave: We recognise our staff work hard and need the appropriate time out to stay motivated. You’ll have a minimum of six weeks out of the programme per year, rising to eight with service. The Mali programme is also classed as a Hardship location so staff are entitled to an additional 10 days per annum Hardship leave.
Flights: MAG provides three international flights home per year.
