We are looking for an experienced Technical Field Manager/ IEDD operator with vast experience and up to date knowledge and skills. This position will give you the opportunity to work in in a sector-leading humanitarian organisation with developing the clearance of improvised explosive devices and mine clearance methodology. The position encompasses leadership, training and management of the search teams and disposal of the found items.
Working together with other Technical Field Managers and the Operations Manager you will:
Personally conduct manual, semi-remote, and remote IED defeat techniques
Implement technical and managerial continuation training of national staff to build capacity
Contribute to methodology development
Have the overall responsibility for the daily planning, supervision, and execution of Humanitarian Mine Action activities including survey and clearance using manual and mechanical assets
The position is based in Erbil with extensive amount of work in the field.
What you bring to the team:
Military IEDD education and certification or equivalent qualification from a certified internationally recognized agency or school
Relevant education or equivalent qualifications (result focused mine action NGO or commercial EOD work, relief and development programmes or military qualifications)
Experience in operational planning and proven analytical skills
Ability to develop and manage a team in survey and clearance of IEDDs, including motivating and leading a team
Ability to adapt to harsh environment and work calmly under preassure and with limited supervision
Good cultural-,communication and interpersonal skills
It is desirable that you also have the following experience:
Recent Iraq and High Risk Search experience
Experience with HMA Toolbox and Land Release
Hands on mine action experience with non-technical survey, technical survey, manual demining, EOD, BAC, mechanical and/ or animal detection an advantage

Salary: In addition to base salary, our salary package for this position includes post allowance, hardship allowance and a hazard allowance specific for Iraq*

Leave: We recognize the harsh conditions of working in Iraq and the need for time off to recuperate. This posting includes a R&R system and five weeks annual leave**. In total this equals approximately 100 days pr year.
