The Heavy Equipment Mechanic works on mission critical aspects of the MRAP program and performs all functional duties independently. Performs maintenance activities and mentors others performing maintenance using Government provided tools and technical manuals and bulletins. Responsible for delivering quality maintenance results on schedule.
Experienced in maintenance operations, including performance of troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of MRAP vehicles, and commercial or military equipment. Preferred areas include maintenance of MRAP vehicles and light to heavy-duty trucks. Typically performs all mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, and administrative duties independently.
Evaluates integrated industrial production processes and test procedures to enable production output to meet vehicle turn-around repair time. Preferred experience in performing U.S. EPA certified automotive A/C services (IAW Section 609 of the Clean Air Act: Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning).
Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will have 10 years of experience in maintenance operations, and a MA/MS degree [or 12 more years of experience if the candidate does not have any degree].
Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret security clearance is required.
