Location: Bamako, Mali
Reporting to the General Manager, the Head of Finance coordinates the provision of effective financial support services within the region, in compliance with legislation and Company policies and procedures.
The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which finance fulfills within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.
Ensure regional compliance with Company Financial policies in respect of budget and forecast processes.
Preparation and timeous submission of the region’s annual budget and quarterly forecast for Head Office approval, conforming to defined budget guidelines and principles.
Maintenance of expenditure within approved levels by ensuring compliance with budgetary control procedures.
Ensure regional compliance with Company accounting and administrative practices, in conformance with legislation and generally accepted accounting practice.
Timeous and accurate processing of decentralized accounting transactions on the G4S ERP system, maintaining accurate and detailed records with supporting source documentation.
Overview of the regional Accounts Receivable function, implementing effective credit control measures to ensure that cash flow is maximised.
Oversight of Easyroster export to payroll, ensuring scheduled and actual hours worked does not exceed contractual manpower requirements.
Monthly reconciliation of billing information to Easy Roster scheduling and contract requirement.
Preparation and timeous submission of accurate forecasts of monthly results, facilitating implementation of proactive measures to obviate unacceptable outcomes.
Analysis and evaluation of monthly accounts, reviewing actual performance against budget, identifying trends and highlighting variances, providing accurate management information to the Regional Operations Director.
Effective coordination of litigation, insurance and other claims.
Oversight and review of regional balance sheet reconciliations
Weekly analysis of labour reports and ensuring corrective measures are implemented.
General financial management of regional costs
Effective Labour Control within region
Maintenance and effective management of labour bins, in particular spare and suspension bins, through management of ER personnel.
Attend regular meetings with Operations on manpower and labour controls, in conjunction of ER personnel
Review and monitor labour reports from easy roster personnel
Oversight on contract requirements and excess staff, in conjunction with Operations
Manage the provision of labour control and management processes through ER team
Staff management and development
All team members have clearly defined job profiles
Ensure performance contracts are in place and regular goal reviews completed to assess achievement of results
Provide support, coaching (train) and mentoring continuously to ensure that objectives are met
Ensure completed development plans for each employee
Allocation resources appropriately to ensure operational demands are met
Ensure that events/activities taking place in team are effectively communicated within the team and to other teams requiring the information
Ensure adequate succession planning to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements

Relevant Tertiary Qualfication essential
3 to 5 Years relevant Senior Finance Management experience
Previous financial management and accounting experience essential
MS Office Packages proficiency required, with specific reference to Excel
